Exploring Racial Literacy When Teaching "Other People's Children"

This paper analyzes one White social studies teacher’s racial literacy in a segregated school serving students of color. The case study highlights racial literacy as tenuous, as the teacher utilized racial literacy practices, yet at times displayed bias or appeared challenged to sustain such practices in her teaching context.
