The Intersection of Elementary Teachers’ Professional and Civic Identities

This qualitative study explores how two elementary teachers understand and enact their civic identities, a dimension of teacher identity significantly unexplored. Results indicate that both teachers’ civic identities focus on civic responsibilities, with an emphasis on socialization.
