Changing Perspectives: Working With Teachers to Create Social Studies Curriculum to Increase Students’ Perspective-Taking Abilities

Working within the design-based research (DBR) paradigm, this study focuses on the creation and implementation of a 10-lesson civics unit by elementary school teachers and a researcher. Early findings indicate that the current political climate and teachers’ knowledge of communities influenced what happened in design meetings and in classrooms.
